Finished Oregon Sunstone

Oregon Sunstone is a feldspar crystal found in basalt formations. Few places in the world have sunstone that contain copper. This copper causes the many colors that Oregon Sunstone is noted for. Rarely Oregon Sunstone is found to be color change and dichroic or trichroic.

Refractive Index 1.55 to 1.57 Critical Angle 42°
Specific Gravity 2.70 Best if cut at 43° or higher on pavilion
